K-2 TREK 2008

NOTE: Although we will try to adhere to this programme, the itinerary is subject to changes due to factors beyond our control including flight cancellations, bad weather, land slides, sickness, accidents, government restrictions and political problems etc.

DAY ITINERARY
01 ISLAMABAD/SKARDU:
Assemble at Islamabad airport for flight PK-451 which takes you over great masif of Nanga Parbat and the meeting point of the Western Himalayas, Hindukush and the Karakorams to the remote town of Skardu. Most part of this spctacular flight follows the great Indus river and present the most spectacular mountain scenery in the world. Towards the end of this flight you will follow the Haramosh range to the spectacular valley of Skardu. In case of good weather distant peaks of K-2, Broad peak, Gasherbrums and Masherbrum can also be seen. Upon arrival transfer to K-2 Motel. Day free for last minute preparations, shopping and walking arround. You can also take an optional jeep ride to the beautiful Satpara lake (US$3-00 per pax for minimum 03 pax). Lunch and Dineer included.
(NOTE: This flight is subject to weather and can get delayed or cancelled in case of bad weather. In case of flight cancellation you will be transfered to Skardu by road at the cost of your airticket for minimum 06 pax. In case the group size is less than 06 pax this cost of two days drive will be slightly higher. You will begin the trek as per schedule on day 03 and will return to Skardu as per schedule.)
02 SKARDU: Morning optional jeep excursion of beautiful Satpara lake (US$3-00 per pax with minimum 03 pax). Afternoon free to prepare for the trek or just relax in the garden with beautiful view. Overnight at K-2 Motel. All meals included.
(NOTE: In case you are driving to Skardu you will arrive here in late afternoon.)
03 SKARDU/ASKOLE: After breakfast drive over the exciting jeep trek through the beautiful Shigar valley to the remote village of Askole which is the last inhebited place on this trek. Upon arrival camp near Askole for the night. All meals included.
NOTE: In case of road block enroute Askoli trek the last part.
04 ASKOLE/JHULLA: After breakfast start the exciting trek which is considered the most challanging and panoramic trek in the world. After crossing the huge Biafo glacier trek to camp at Jhulla which s located next to the pulley cart river crossing point. Overnight at camp. All meals included. (06 hours)
05 JHULLA/PAIJU: After early breakfast, cross the river on the pulley cart and trek through the bushy forest and sandy banks of Braldu river to the green campsite of Paiju. All meals included. (06 hours)
06 PAIJU (REST DAY): Rest day in the beautiful lush green campsite of Paiju under the magnificient Paiju peak. From here you will have the first glimpse of the huge Baltoro glacier. All meals included.
07 PAIJU/KHUBERSAY: Trek down to the river bed and reach the black snout of Baltoro glacier. After climbing the snout traverse to the right hand side and climb up to the moraine. Trek along the moraine to reach the camp site of Khubersay. Camp in this spectacular Baltoro glacier and the magnificent peaks across the glacier. All meals included. (6-7 hours)
08 KHUBERSAY/URDUKAS: Trek along the moraine of Baltoro glacier to the last green campsite of Urdukas situated on a steep slope over looking the glacier and surrounding peaks including the famous Trengo Towers. Overnight at Urdukas. All meals included. (04 hours)
09 URDUKAS/GORO: Descend to the glacier and walk to the campsite of Goro located in the middle of the glacier. Enroute you will see some of the most spectacular mountains in the world including Masherbrum (7821m) and the first glimpse of the magnificient Gasherbrum-4 located near Concordia. Camp over small plateform made on the glacier ice with stones and scree. All meals included. (06-07 hours)
10 GORO/CONCORDIA: Trek over ridges and around crevasses with beautiful view of Gasherbrum range and Broad peak in front. Camp near confluence of Godwin Austin and Baltoro glacier at Concordia which is surrounded by numerous mountains over seven thousand meters and four peaks over eight thousand meters. This campsite has a magnificient view of K-2 (8611m), Broad peak (8047m) & the Gasherbrum range. All meals included. (05-06 hours)
11 CONCORDIA/K-2 BASE CAMP/CONCORDIA: The most exciting day of this trek as you walk past Broad peak and get nearer to K-2 and arrive at the strip which is the most popular camping area for nearly all the expeditions to K-2 and arrive at the strip which is the most popular camping area for nearly all the expeditions to K-2. Here some of the top climbers of the world can be seen busy in preparations for the challenges ahead. Return to your camp at Concordia for overnight (K-2 base camp is too high and trekkers can get seriously ill from altitude if they stay for the night at this altitude, therefore the group must return to Concordia) stay. All meals included. (04-05 hours each way)
12 CONCORDIA: Free day to rest and explore the vastness of Concordia. From here you have to most spectacular view of dozens of great and famouse peaks. In case of bad weather the previous days this day is used for trip to the K-2 base camp. Camp on the glacier. All meals included.
13 CONCORDIA/GORO: Trek along the Baltoro glacier passing the Mitre peak back to Goro. Camp for the night with beautiful views of Concordia and G-IV. All meals included. (05-06 hours)
14 GORO/URDUKAS: Trek back to Urdukas. Camp among the first sign of greenry. All meals included. (06 hours)
15 URDUKAS/KHUBERSAY: Trek back to Khubersay. Overnight at camp. All meals included. (04 hours)
16 KHUBERSAY/PAIJU: After a few hours trek over the Baltoro glacier descend from the snout and leave the world of eternal ice and rocks behind you. Camp in Paiju under the beautiful Paiju peak. all meals included. (06 hours)
17 PAIJU/JHULLA: Trek back to Julla and camp next to the pully cart crossing over the river. All meals included. (06 hours)
18 JHULLA/ASKOLI: Cross the river by teh pully cart suspended by the cable. Trek back to Korophone and cross the Biafo glacier and walk the remaining eash path through lush fields to the little village of Askoli. Overnight at camp. All meals included.
19 ASKOLI/SKARDU: Trek back to the jeep road and take jeep back to Skardu. Upon arrival transfer to the K-2 Motel. All meals included.
20 SKARDU/ISLAMABAD: After an early breakfast transfer to Skardu airpurt for flight (PK-451) back to Islamabad. Only breakfast included.

PLEASE NOTE: The flight from Skardu to Islamabad is subject to weather conditions. Incase of flight cancellation group can decide to either stay in Skardu for an extra day. Or drive streight back to Islamabad at cost of airfare to cover ground transport.

K-2 TREK WITH GONDOGORO LA

DAY ITINERARY
01 ISLAMABAD/SKARDU:
Assemble at Islamabad airport for the beautiful mountain flight to Skardu, the capital of Baltistan. Upon arrival transfer to the K-2 Motel. Eveing excursion of the Skardu bazars. Overnight at K-2 Motel. Lunch and dinner included.

PLEASE NOTE: This flight is subject to weather. In case the flight is cancelled or seats not available due to previous flight cancellation the group will drive to Skardu at the cost of one way airfare to cover the transportation cost of the two days road journey with overnight stop at PTDC Barsine or Panorama hotel Chilas. The trek will start as per schedule on day 03.

02 SKARDU: Full day for last minute preparations, checks and explore this region. Overnight at K-2 Motel. All meals included. (Incase of driving the group will arrive in Skardu in the afternoon)
03 SKARDU/ASKOLE: After breakfast drive over the exciting jeep trek through the beautiful Shigar valley to the remote village of Askole which is the last inhebited place on this trek. Upon arrival camp near Askole for the night. All meals included.
NOTE: In case of road block enroute Askoli trek the last part.

11 CONCORDIA: Rest day to acclimatise and explore Concordia. All meals included.
12 CONCORDIA/K-2 BASE CAMP/CONCORDIA: The most exciting day of this trek as you walk past Broad peak and get nearer to K-2 and arrive at the strip which is the most popular camping area for nearly all the expeditions to K-2 at the strip which is the most popular base camp for nearly all the expeditions to K-2. Here some of the top climbers of the world can be seen busy in preparations for the challenges ahead. After lunch return to your camp at Concordia. All meals included. (06 hours treking each way)
13 CONCORDIA/VIGNE GLACIER/ALI: Trek along the upper Baltoro glacier passing the Mitre peak. Traverse the glacier to approach the Vigne glacier. Trek past the Vigne peaks to the upper glacier. Campat Ali camp for the night. All meals included. (07 hours)
14 ALI CAMP/KHUSPANG (10-12 HOURS): Take an early morning start for the exciting climbe to the top of the Gondogoro La (Pass). The panorama behind you will open up and you could look back at the majestic peaks arround Concordia from a different prespective. After reaching the top of the pass descend into the Gondogoro glacier region. Camp at the base of the pass at Khuspang. All meals included.

NOTE: The climbe over Gondogoro La requires some climbing experience including cramponing, use of ice axe and ropes. Some parts of descend into Gondogoro glacier valley is steep exposed rock and ice face where rope is fixed by guide to ensure adequate safety of trekkers however trekkers are expected to have climbing skills to nagociate the difficulties.

15 KHUSPANG/REST DAY: In case of bad weather use this day for crossing Gondogoro La. Beautiful mountains arround the Gondogoro glacier area. All meals included.
16 KHUSPANG/DALSANGPA: Trek down along the Gondogoro glacier passing the campsite of Gondogoro peak to Dalsampa with incredible view of Masherbrum East (7821m) camp in a beautiful meadow with crystal clear springs and a small lake. Incredible views in North of the Masherbrum La ice fall and the 7821m high Masherbrum East. All meals included.
17 DALSANGPA/SCHIETSHO: Trek along Gondogoro Glacier passing stone summer settlements of sheaphards next to the moraine to Schetsu campsite and camp for night. All meals included.
18 SCHIETSHO/HUSHE: An easy walk down along the Gondogoro river to the lush meadows and terraced fields of the beautiful Hushe village in the natural surroundings. The jeep trek begins on the other side of this centuries old village of friendly smiling faces. Enjoy your last night at camp in this remote part of the great Karakoram range. All meals included.
19 HUSHEY/SKARDU: Take an exciting jeep ride to the vast Sheok river valley. Pass the ancient state of Khaplu and drive on to Skardu. Upon arrival transfer to the K-2 Motel. All meals included.
13 SKARDU/ISLAMABAD: Take the early morning flight back to Islamabad. Only breakfast included. Tour finishes at the Skardu airport.

TREKKING IN HUSHE VALLEY WITH CLIMBING OF GONDOGORO PEAK AND GONDOGORO LA

DAY ITINERARY
01 ISLAMABAD/SKARDU: Assemble at Islamabad airport for the exciting mountain flight to Skardu. This scenic flight takes you through beautiful Kaghan valley and along the famous Nanga Parbat to the rugged mountains of Karakoram. Descending into the george of Indus river the flight offers splendid views of Haramosh as well as glimpse of K-2, Broad peak and Gasherbrums on the horizon. (Please note that this flight is subject to weather conditions and will not operate in case of bad weather in mountains. In case of flight cancellation or non availability the group will drive to Skardu at an extra charge of US$45-00 to cover the cost of an extra day and the cost of ground transport will be adjusted from airfare. Arrive in Skardu on the second day. The total duration of the tour will be thus 16 days). Overnight at hotel. Lunch and dinner included.
02 SKARDU/HUSHE: Drive by jeeps to Hushe valley. Upon arrival camp in the fields outside the village. All meals included.
03 HUSHE/DUMSANG: Early morning start to the Masherbrum glacier. Camp in the lush meadows next to the moraine of the glacier near the sheaphard's camp. All meals included.
04 DUMSANG/MASHERBRUM BASE CAMP: Trek over the glacier to see the incredible Masherbrum range and continue to Masherbrum east (7821m) base camp. From here the whole Karakoram viesta towards South is visible. Overnight at camp. All meals included.
05 BASE CAMP/SHIATCHO: Trek back to the river valley and tranverse the Gondogoro glacier. Camp in a wild groove next to the moraine of the glacier. All meals included.
06 SHIATCHO/DALSANGPA: Trek along the Gondogoro glacier to Dalsangpa where Masherbrum east glacier meets the Gondogoro glacier. Overnight at camp. All meals included.
07 DALSANGPA/GONDOGORO BASE CAMP: Trek over the upper Gondogoro glacier to the base camp of the Gondogoro peak. Overnight at camp. All meals included.
08 CLIMBING DAY: Leave at 02:00 am for the peak. After climbing the peak return to the base camp. All meals included.
09 FREE DAY: Free day to restt and expolore the aea. In case of bad weather on the previous day use this day for climbing to the summit. Overnight at camp. All meals included.
10 BASE CAMP/GONDOGORO LA/BASE CAMP: Climb to the top of the 5600m high pass with the most incredible panoramic view of the surrounding peaks including K-2, Broad peak, Gasherbrums and Chongolisa. Return to camp at Khuspang. All meals included.
11 BASE CAMP DALSAMPA: Trek back to Dalsampa. All meals included.
12 DALSANGPA/SHIATCHO: Trace your footstemps back to the sheephards camp down the glacier's end. Overnight at camp. All meals included.
13 SHIATCHO/HUSHE: Trek back to Hushe. Overnight in tents near the village. All meals included.
14 HUSHE/SKARDU: Drive by jeep to Skardu. Upon arrival transfer to the K-2 Motel. All meals included.
15 SKARDU/ISLAMABAD: After breakfast transfer to Skardu airport for the exciting mountain flight back to Islamabad.

NANGA PARBAT RUPAL TREK

NANAGA PARBAT is the nineth highest mountain in the world. It towers at a height of 8125m on the Western tip of the great Himalayan range. The base camps of Nanga Parbat were the expeditions traditionally camped during their stay in this area are famous for their natural beauty of lush meadows, flowers, quite villages and peaceful forests. Alongwith the imposing views of the great Nanga Parbat range these present the most impressive and unforgettable viestas in the entire region. Join us for the most beautiful and spectacular easy trek through the sleepy villages and everchanging landscape to the famous base camps of this mighty mountain.

DAY ITINERARY
01 ISLAMABAD/CHILAS: Drive by jeeps/van/to Chilas. Upon arrival transfer to Panorama hotel. All meals included.
02 CHILAS/RAMA LAKE: After breakfast drive by jeeps to the great Nanga Parbat region. Have a picnic lunch in the beautiful surroundings of the Astor valley enroute the beautiful Rama lake with spectacular views of the great Nanga Parbat. Upon arrival camp near the lake. All meals included.
03 RAMA/TARISHING/BEGRE BASE CAMP: After breakfast start the Jeep ride through the beautiful mountain valleys to the little village of Trishing at the road end. After dustributing load for porters and an early lunch start your lovely trek. The trek crosses a small glacier just outside Tarishing and then enters the beautiful Rupal on the Begre base camp (also known as the Polish camp) located next to the moraine of the main Rupal valley. Trek past the quite Rupal village and continue on to Begre base camp (also known as the Polish camp) located next to the moraine of the main Rupal glacier and with impressive view of Nanga Parbat ahead. Camp in the lush meadows of Begre next to crystal clear streams. Overnight at camp. All meals included.
04 BEGRE/LATOBO BASE CAMP: After breakfast trek to the famous Latobo or Herligcoffer base camp. All the major expeditions which climbed Nanga Parbat stayed at this beautiful spot right under the shadow of this great mountain. Overnight at camp. All meals included.
05 LATOBO FREE DAY: A free day to relax in this beautiful region. No trekking on this day. Short hikes to the surrounding region, glacier lake and sheaphard village can be undertaken as well as climbing a small peak for more adventurous members.

Optional round trek to the Mazeno lower base camp for rough trekkers, returning to Latobo in late afternoon. Overnight at camp. All meals included.

06 LOTOBO/TARISHING: Take the enjoyable walk back to Tarishing. Overnight at camp. All meals included.
07 TARISHING/CHILAS: Take a jeep ride back to the KKH to Chilas. Upon arrival at Chilas transfer to Panorama hotel for overnight stay and dinner. All meals included.
08 CHILAS/ISLAMABAD: After an early breakfast visit the ancient rock inscriptions and carvings arround Chilas. After a brief visit drive on the KKH to Islamabad stoping at Shatial Bridghe and Mansehra to look at other Silk Route period inscriptions. Tour end upon arrival at Islamabad. Only breakfast and diner included.

NANGA PARBAT FAIRY MEADOWS TREK

NANAGA PARBAT is the nineth highest mountain in the world. Although it is 8125m high its masif is greater than Everest the highest mountain on earth. Nangal Parbat dominates the western tip of the great Himalayan range where the Indian continental plate is riding over the Asian continental plate causing this region to grow vertically at a rate of ten centimeters a year which is the highest growth rate in the world.

Join us for an exciting trekking and camping adventure to this famous mountain with aweinspinring viestas, breath taking scenery and unspoiled nature. You will camp in lush meadows surrounded by pine forests over looked by the great Nanga Parbat, the Naked Mountain.

Although this trek is suitable for families, children are accepted this trek is suitable for families, children are accepted only on the liability of their parents. Donkeys can be arranged for children with drivers at an extra cost.

01 ISLAMABAD/CHILAS: Drive by airconditioned Hiace vans to the ancient city of Chilas located next to the Indus river. Overnight at Panorama Hotel, Chilas. All meals included.
02 CHILAS/RAIKOT BRIDGE/TATO VILLAGE/FAIRY MEADOWS: After breakfast drive to the Raikot bridghe by vans. Upon arrival at Raikot transfer to jeeps for the exciting ride to the little Tato village (or as far as the road permits the jeep travel). Start trekking from the Tato village for the Fairy Meadows. Upon arrival camp in the beautiful meadows with an exciting view of the great Nanga Parbat. Overnight at camp. All meals included.
03 FAIRY MEADOWS/NANGA PARBAT BASE CAMP: After early breakfast trek through pine and birch forests and over a glacier to the base camp of Nanga Parbat. Return to Fairy Meadows after a picnic lunch. Overnight at camp. All meals included.
04 FAIRY MEADOWS/RAIKOT BRIDGE/CHILAS: After breakfast trek back to Tato village. Take jeeps and After breakfast trek back to Tato village. Take jeeps and drive to Raikot. Upon arrival transfer to the van and drive to the Panorama hotel in Chilas. All meals included.
05 CHILAS/ISLAMABAD : After an early breakfast drive back to Islamabad. Stop at Besham for lunch. Upon arrival drop at pre determined spot. Only breakfast and lunch included.
